Samsung P2770HD 27-Inch 1920×1080 5ms 16.7M Multifunction LCD Monitor
Don’t Buy Samsung P2770HD 27-Inch LCD Monitor Until You Read This.
I bought the Samsung P2770HD because I needed a multifunction LCD monitor for my home business. I trade in the equities market and needed a monitor that could easily go from being a standard monitor to a TV.
Although I thought that the product would meet my requirements, I was quite concerned about the negative reviews about picture clarity but since there also several positive reviews and I was just paying a few dollars more over a standard monitor to get the dual feature thought the effort would certainly be worth it.
The Samsung P2770HD is currently on sale on Amazon for 41% off with free shipping through this link right here.
When the monitor was delivered to my home, I could not wait to get the unit out of the box and see the picture quality for myself. To its credit, it took me barely five minutes to get the monitor out; hook it up and get it started. But then the anticipated happened, I was utterly dismayed at the blurry figures splashed across the screen when I connected the monitor to my desktop processor.
Then I saw the numerous menu options and I was willing to give the monitor a chance before sending it back .While the manual is not the most helpful, some of the reviews here were certainly quite insightful.
After a few resolution adjustments, things seemed to work just fine; the picture quality was crisp and the blurry text was replaced with clear, legible images.
Because I had read about the issues with using an HDMI connection, I simply went ahead with my DVI cable. Since the unit was working well as a monitor, I wanted to put it through the acid test and see how well it functioned as an LCD TV.
The best part that I noticed about this product is that I could get local channel reception without a cable box. The screen is large enough to accommodate PIP feature; however, you will need a TV tuner card for that. Also because you have 1080 p resolution and 27 inches at my disposal, the screen is just the right size to accommodate two side by side windows and yet give you clear picture quality.
Although I can’t say that the sound quality is excellent, it is perfect if you intend to use the monitor in a small room or even keep it on your desk. Alternatively, you could simply hook up a good set of speakers to get the blaring volume that you may need.
I especially like the remote that comes with this unit; apart from the scores of menu settings that I still need to learn about and try out, you can use it to easily switch between the TV and monitor mode without compromising the picture clarity. Another convenient feature is the picture size button on the remote that can be used to resize a specific window.
If you want to buy these LCD monitors, I highly recommend you buy them through Amazon here. You won’t find them cheaper anywhere else.
So, if I were to sum up the pros and cons of the product, this is what it would look like:

W. R. Gormley “BobbyG”,
Excellent Monitor and HDTV,
After researching alternatives, I purchased the P2770HD to replace dual four-year old HP 19″ LCD (4 x 3 aspect ratio) monitors running at 1280 X 1024 resolution.
I calculated that 27″ (at 1080P) was the maximum screen size that would retain the resolution quality of my previous monitors.
I’m exceptionally pleased with this unit. The size is just right for displaying two full-size windows simultaneously, side-by-side. Graphics and text are sharp and colors are great.
